Cal. 45-70 Govt. S#. 128776A. Mfg. 1902 & Shipped 1903. Bbl. 26" Oct. with silver tipped dovetailed sporting front sight. Sporting leaf rear sight. 1/2 magazine. Plain trigger. Straight grip walnut stock set with smooth crescent buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Winchester factory letter confirming configuration described. CONDITION: overall very fine. Bbl has strong original bluing that has some areas of light thinning around the address (light touchup blue present) with 85-90% coverage and showing scattered mild handling marks, light high edge wear and a few spots of minor freckling. Receiver retains approx 70% coverage of the rifles original bluing with thinning and faded finish in the carry area that has developed a grey brown patina. Buttplate is has been reblued. Stock set is very good with a light sanding and scattered handling marks. Very good bright bore with some very minor pitting and sharp rifling. (25-1286/ZAL). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
